Mat Well Mats

Our Mat Well Mats at Make An Entrance are a best seller. They are recessed door mat that usually lie flush with the flooring. Matwell mats are usually made from PVC Backed Coir, but they can also be in carpet form. The door mat carpet is made from our Washable Textile Carpet Mat a matwell carpet. We custom make the door well mats to the size you require so you only pay for what you need and there's minimal wastage.

Here at Make An Entrance, we have a front door carpet to suit any of your needs and style. We also have a doormat carpet for any thicknesses of mat wells. It will be cut to the size you need to make it a perfect fit for your door mat well or sunken door mat frame. However, if you would prefer to cut it yourself it is extremely easy to do with a sharp Stanley knife and a ruler. You could say it’s your own personal recessed door mat kit for your mat well.

How deep should a mat well be?

A mat well should typically be 10-20mm deep to accommodate most standard recessed mats. If you have a mat you’re already planning to get, check the depth and make sure your mat well matches it. However, we appreciate that in some houses your mat well can be deeper from 20mm plus. We have a range of mats that suit these mat wells. From our 30mm Superior PVC Backed Coir Matting to our Made to Measure Traditional Doormat that comes in 25mm, 30mm, 35mm, 40mm. If your mat well is still deeper than this, it is not a problem you may just need to place some plyboard in the bottom in order to raise the mat up in the well.

How effective are anti-fatigue mats?

Anti-fatigue mats are highly effective at reducing discomfort caused by prolonged standing. They promote better posture, improve circulation, and reduce strain on joints and muscles.
