The thickest standard mat available anywhere. This 50mm braided edge mat, made from 100% coir is our most luxurious. This doormat is densely woven to ensure it will last for years, and it also comes with a stitched edge for a traditional finish.

Due to the structure of the coir fibres, this standard-sized mat is excellent at scraping dirt from your shoes and absorbing any moisture before it can damage your floors. This extra-thick coir matting frees your home from dirt and debris. Our coir doormats are also suitable for indoor use and make the perfect accent piece for your hallway. This mat comes in 3 sizes.

Please note: Due to the material the mat is made from, this coir mat may shed in the first few months of use. If this occurs, simply brush or shake the mat to maintain its appearance.
SIZES:
All dimensions of standard-sized coir mats are approximate. Our standard-sized mats may vary in size and are sometimes 2-3 centimetres larger than specified. If you are looking for a mat to fit into a mat well, you may be better off choosing a made to measure mat so that we can guarantee the exact size you have requested.

Anti Slip Underlay - If your doormat is going to be placed onto hard flooring, we suggest purchasing Anti Slip Underlay for your doormat. This will help to prevent any slips, or your doormat moving when you don’t want it to.

We send all our orders via DHL and you will receive a tracking email from us by 5pm on the day of despatch.
We ask that you provide a mobile number with your delivery address. We pass this number over to DHL as they will text you with a time slot of when your order should be delivered. If you do not provide us with a mobile number an email shall be sent instead.

At the point of placing your order, you can state a safe place to leave your order if you are out, or you can opt to leave it with a neighbour.
Within the DHL text or email providing your timeslot, there is the option to rearrange delivery or have it sent to a service point to be collected from there.

How thick should a Coir Doormat be?

This depends on your requirements and needs for the mat. Here at Make An Entrance, we stock a wide range of coir doormats in a range of thicknesses. Our PVC Backed Coir Matting is perfect for use in mat wells and it comes in 3 grades and 4 thicknesses including; 17mm, 20mm, 24mm and 30mm. In our range of woven-backed coir matting where we stock a wide range of sizes, these mats come in thicknesses of 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 35mm and 40mm, so you can choose the right one for you.

Are there Different Qualities of Coir Matting?

Yes. There are two different qualities of coir matting called budget and luxury. Budget coir mats are loose and have a less uniform surface. For this reason, they shed more and tend not to last as long as luxury coir matting. On the other hand, luxury coir mats have dense, tightly packed fibres that give a firm appearance and are extremely long-lasting. What is the most effective doormat?

A coir doormat is one of the most popular types of doormat in the UK. This is due to its durability, water absorbency and long-lasting nature. Coir will remove dried dirt efficiently due to the strong coconut fibres it is made from and can be maintained easily. How do I clean a Coir Mat?

It's in a doormat's nature to get dirty, but don't worry, they're straightforward to clean! If your coir doormat has lots of dirt, wait for it to dry, grab a stiff brush(this is the best brush for cleaning), brush off the dirt, or shake. Do not attempt to clean the mat when the dirt is wet, as this can worsen the stain. Additionally, harsh chemicals should not be used as they can damage the natural fibres.
