Spring Cleaning Top Tips
Now the sun is finally making an appearance, it’s the perfect opportunity for blitzing your home to make time for enjoying warmer days outdoors. Our Spring Cleaning Top Tips are a great place to start. Traditionally, Spring is the time of year when windows and doors can be opened without a chill to let in lovely fresh air. Dust that has built up from spending lots of time indoors during Winter can be swept away. Spring signals new beginnings, so time to get rid of unwanted clutter and worn out household items. Whilst it may sound overwhelming, breaking the task into smaller chunks can be really useful. Take a look at our Spring Cleaning Top Tips for inspiration:
Our Spring Cleaning Top Tips
1. Make a List
Organise your cleaning schedule, either room by room or by what job needs doing the most. This will keep you focused on the task, and you can tick off our Spring Cleaning Top Tips as you go, which boosts a sense of achievement!
2. Work from Top to Bottom
If you are tackling a room at a time, it is good to start from the ceiling and work down, leaving floors until last. That way the dust and debris will fall downwards, therefore avoiding having to reclean. You can sweep away any settled dust when you get round to your floors.
3. De-clutter
Tidy home, tidy mind! It’s widely recognised that a disorganised home can increase stress levels. Throw away or donate unwanted trinkets, ornaments, clothes, shoes, furniture, kitchenware, pretty much anything you don’t need. Organise your drawers, wardrobes and cupboards so as you can find the things you’ve forgotten you own!
4. Walls, Windows and Doors
These areas are often forgotten during a routine clean, but in our Spring Cleaning Top Tips they are vital! All of these places can be a haven for dust, cobwebs, grease and grime. Wiping walls and doors with a damp soapy cloth makes a big difference, removing finger prints and dirty marks. Winter weather can take its toll on windows and sills, washing both outside and inside will leave them extra sparkling.
5. Don’t forget your Entrance
The first impression of your home is your entrance way, so it needs some attention. Retire your old doormat that has worked hard all winter and needs a rest! A Personalised Doormat, not only functional, adds a decorative touch. If there is still life left in your doormat, give it a good clean. Shake, vacuum or brush your coir doormat to remove dust and grit. Our Carpet/Textile mats can easily be washed and dried in a machine to make them as good as new.
