Our 17mm coloured coir matting is available in Black, Red, Blue, Green, Grey, and Dark Brown. We also have Natural Coir Matting in 17mm, 20mm, 24mm and 30mm thicknesses.

What Are The Benefits of Coir Matting?
Coir matting is an ideal type of doormat for households and businesses as it offers a range of benefits, including:
• Durability – This type of matting is made from strong coconut fibres that are resistant to wear and tear. This makes it an ideal choice for high-traffic entrances as it will last much longer than other types of doormats.
• Eco-friendly – Coir matting is made from natural materials, so it's much better for the environment than synthetic alternatives.
• Easy to clean – Coconut fibres are very absorbent and quickly soak up dirt and debris tracked in from outside. When cleaning, you should wait until the mat has dried before vacuuming or brushing it.
• Comes in 2 thicknesses – Black coir matting cut to size comes in 17mm and 23mm thickness. We always recommend going for the thinner matting, as it is can be raised up in the matwell using plyboard. If the entrance matting is too thick it may stop your door from opening.
Black Coir Mat FAQs:
We've done our best to try and answer some of the most frequently asked questions about black coir matting below:
How long do coir mats last?
Coir matting can last for years when maintained properly. Made from the natural fibres of coconut husks, it is a natural material that is incredibly durable and resistant to foot traffic. Whilst not recommended for exterior entrance areas, it is perfect for indoors due to its water-absorbent nature.
Do coir mats attract bugs?
The natural coconut oils found in coir matting are actually a bug-repellent! Contrary to what many people think, this type of matting will not attract bugs and is an ideal solution for preventing dirt in your entryway. For more information on this type of matting, please get in touch, and one of our customer service professionals will be more than happy to help with any questions you have.
Is coir matting the same as coconut matting?
Yes, coir matting is the same as coconut matting. This durable material is one of the most popular types of doormats and is just what many businesses need to make their entrance stand out to their customers. When laid directly into mat wells, a coir mat sits flush with the rest of the floor to create an even surface. Black coir matting can also be personalised with a logo or a slogan so that you can make it more unique.
Do coir doormats go inside or outside?
Coir mats are best placed inside as they are highly water-absorbent. Placing it outside will not only cause it to become waterlogged, but it will likely damage the mat beyond repair. If you require an outdoor doormat, we'd recommend a water-resistant material such as rubber. Combined, these will keep your home clean and tidy.
