How To Clean Washable Door Mats
Wash your mat
If your washable door mat looks a little worse for wear, simply pop it in the washing machine at 30 degrees, (some of our range are machine washable at up to 40 degrees). This will ensure your doormat is hygienic and free from dirt, grime, and bacteria.
Dry your mat
Once it's been cleaned, hang it over the washing line or a clothes airer to ensure it’s completely dry before use. Certain mats may also be tumble dried, please see product listings for full details.
Too big to fit?
Try a carpet shampoo machine.

Washable Door Mat FAQs:
We've done our best to try and answer some of the most frequently asked questions about washable door mats below:
Can doormats be washed in the washing machine?
Yes, some types of doormats can be washed in the washing machine. This includes our high-quality range of washable door mats! Another type of door mat, such as coir, should not be cleaned this way. Coir is the wrong type of material for washing machines, as it is extremely water absorbent. This will cause it to become waterlogged and ineffective, and would almost certainly damage your machine. If you need advice you can always call our experts to check whether the products you are considering are machine washable.
What doormat doesn't get waterlogged?
If you're looking for a doormat that doesn't hold onto water, we'd recommend a rubber doormat. This sort of mat is great for outdoors as it is water resistant and hard-wearing. Perfect for placing on your porch or in any community area that sees heavy foot traffic. You can browse our range of rubber door mat deals here.
What setting do you wash mats on in a washing machine?
To wash your machine washable doormat, we'd recommend placing it on a 30-degree cycle (some of our mats can be cleaned at 40 degrees) with a gentle non-bio washing detergent. This will clean the mat without damaging the material. Ideally, choose a detergent without optical brightening agents (whiteners) to avoid fading the design. Also, ensure that you reduce the spin speed to a low spin, such as 400, high spin speeds could damage the mat. Care instructions come with each of our products to ensure you don't get it wrong.
